EUROPEAN CONFERENCE OF CHRISTIAN RADIOS
CHARTER AND ORGANIZATION
Article 1: Composition
The European Conference of Christian Radios isformed by the meeting of the delegates appointed by the European Christian Radios or Organizations of Christian Radios.
Article 2: Purpose
The purpose of the European Conference of Christian Radios is:
- Promoting the common interests of the Christians radios while respecting the Human Rights as well as pluralism and democracy;
- Promoting meetings, exchanges of experiences and search for professional qualifications between the European Christian radios;
- Contributing to the development of an European consciousness and of the reconciliation between European peoples, in the direction of a true Christian;
- Collaborating with the authorities of the European Community and of the Council of Europe, as well as with other national and international organizations concerned with communication between men.
Article 3: Administrative Section
An association governed by the French law called :
“Conférence Européenne des Radios Chrétiennes, Section Administrative” provides the legal, administrative and financial support of the Conference.
This Charter, established by the Administrative Section (cf. article 4), lays down the running rules of the Conference.
Article 4: Members
The Conference consists of by right members and adherent members. It may also call in experts and welcome observers.
Members of the Conférence Européenne des Radios Chrétiennes, Section Administrative are members by right.
The adherent Members are the Christian radio stations and the associations of Christian radio stations, the persons in charge of religious programmes in the public or private radio stations, as well as the persons in charge of national or international bodies working in the communication field.
The applications for membership are to be sent to the Secretary-Generalship, who submits them for approval to the Board of the CERC,S.A. Memberships become effective after approval by the Board of the CERC, S.A. and payment of the annual subscription.
Article 5: Activities
By implementation of article 2 above the ECCR:
- Informs the Members of trends and decisions taken by the European authorities in the field of the radio
- Acts as a spokesperson to the European bodies on behalf of the Members for their questions and wishes
- Promotes meetings and dialogue between the Members.
The ECCR on principle organizes a Plenary Session and/or an European Colloquium every year for all members of the association. Furthermore Christian radios or organizations which are not adherent members may attend these meetings with approval of the board and after payment of a registration fee.
The Plenary Session or the Colloquium are chaired by the Chairman of the conference, Administrative section, together with the Chairman of the radio station or of the national association where the session is held.
Article 6: Financing
The Conference income results from the subscription fees of the members, from the registration fees for the plenary Sessions, from gifts and subsidies, and from every financial transactions approved by the law.
The adherent members pay annual subscription fees whose amount is decided on by the Board of CERC, S.A. This subscription fee includes the registration fee for the colloquium and/or the General Meeting.
Income and expenses of the ECCR are administered by the Administrative Section.
Article 7: Revision of the Charter
This Charter can be amended by the General Meeting of the Administrative Section, on recommendation of 2/3 of the adherent members made at the latest six months before the plenary Session of the Conference, and with the agreement of the Board of the Administrative Section.
