Representants of our Christian radios from France, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Italy met in Lisbon (from 10 to 12 October 2018). One of the most important theme was a debate about digital challenges for a our radios. A novelty this year was Jean-Jacques Gardette Award for the best European radio initiative. Jean-Charles Putzolu from Vatican media was the special guest of meeting.

Participants CERC Lisboa5had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of the Portuguese Conference of Bishops. There were meeting with Cardinal Manuel Clemente, Patriarch of Lisbon and president of the Portuguese Conference of Bishops.

Renascença Multimedia Group

Representants of our Christian radios learnt a lot in the visit to radio Renascença, RFM, Mega Hits and Rádio Sim, the 4 radios of the Portuguese group: 4 radios for different publics of different ages sharing the same building and, of course, the same spirit and catholic view of life.

The digital transformation of Radio Renascença and the explanation was very inspiring for all participants. The radios members of the CERC are often very different, but they all need to go ahead in our digital transformation and knowing what Renascença is doing and how is doing it, helps a lot.

Six radios participated in the Award, all with great initiatives

From Renascença, an inspiring video about our Lady of Fátima and Belarus; Radio Proglas came with a very special folk music chart; COPE showed us their new web and new app; Radio Toscana (Corallo) explained an inspiring initiative against bullying. "Leave your sofa" or how to take our radio to the youngers in a very attractive way, by RCF. And, finally, the initiative of Radio Lumen to improve the coexistance with Roma people through a radio show presented by two Roma in a country where they are minority. Radio Lumen won the first "Jean-Jacques Gardette Award for the best European radio initiative" of the year.

The new Vatican media map
